Independent Mortgage Advice – choose of whole of market advice

When you are looking to obtain a new mortgage, whether it be to purchase a new home or to remortgage a property that you already own it is important to find a mortgage deal that is both suitable and cost effective.

Independent mortgage advice from a whole of market mortgage advice provider like EFS keeps your options wide open, rather than limiting your choice.

There are broadly speaking 3 types of mortgage advice :

1) Mortgage Advice Direct from a Bank or Building Society.

A Bank or Building Society adviser cannot and will not provide independent mortgage advice. You could still gain access to the best deal but you are severely limiting your options. By all means gain quotations from your bank or building society but then seek a whole of market comparison from an independent mortgage adviser.

2) Independent Mortgage Advice where your adviser has access to a limited panel of lenders.

Your choice of mortgage deals is much less restricted than option (1) but you are still limiting your options which may mean you end up with less than the best. However, advisers with a limited lender panel can sometimes offer you access to exclusive or semi-exclusive mortgage deals which may not be available to all whole of market advisers.

3) Independent Mortgage Advice where your adviser has whole of market access.

Everything else being equal, this option is most likely to help you gain access to the best mortgage deal to meet your specific needs and circumstances, as your choice of lenders and mortgage products is not restricted.

So the core benefit of whole of market independent mortgage advice is a wider range of choice from which to source the most suitable and cost effective mortgage to meet your needs and circumstances.
